Planning for March 8th Class

We are going to try learning a new dance next week

Dansul Fetelor de la Crihalma, from Romania. We introduced this one a few years ago but never mastered it.

Instructions and links to videos are here: https://folkdancemusings.blogspot.com/2018/03/dansul-fetelor-de-la-crihalma-romania.html

Suggestions for other dances are always welcome.

Our public health rules have changed. The masking order is still in place but other restrictions have been lifted.

And if we are feeling brave about holding hands, here is a neat little couples dance from Greenland, Tuluttooq: https://folkdancemusings.blogspot.com/2022/01/tuluttooq-greenland.html

Another week at home

Hi everyone. Classes are still cancelled due to the current public health orders. In the meantime, here are some videos to check out.

15 minutes of walking

Our dance classes do not normally count towards the NWTPRA Walking Challenge (formerly known as the Walk to Tuk), because we start and stop too much between dances. This video is a 15 minute walking exercise video. You never stop moving, so you can count the time in the walking challenge.

When I play the video, it stops around the 9 minute mark, and I have to fast forward a few seconds to get it playing again. There are some ads which interrupt the video around 10 minutes.

 More Ira Weisburd videos

Weekly dance videos are posted on this youtube site: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLCLlW-70Y8mkY3L7n7Hw9Q. There are some live streaming classes too. Here are some recent classes to check out.

The videos below are all 45 to 90 minutes long.

Classes postponed due to COVID

Classes are postponed again due to COVID. We will resume on January 25th.

In the meantime, check out our previous posts or the resources page to review old dances. This site and this one are good spots to find new dances to try.

Here is a new one for us to try out when we get back together: Cha Cha Espana.

Here is the music track: Gozar la vida.

And the choreography is here.
